The story
Sc. 01 · the brief
The information existed; it had gone stale.
The problem was never a lack of information but its freshness. The EU extended temporary protection to March 2028, while Bulgaria's own decree still ran to March 2027; the switch to the euro made every price in leva out of date. A refugee portal in eight languages died in January 2026. That is the sector's base rate.
Sc. 02 · what we built
Every page carries a date and its sources.
Forty-five articles in eight sections: status, work, children, money, health, housing, a monthly page of changes, and a Bulgarian section for employers. Ukrainian is the default and Russian is a full mirror, never a subset. Every page carries the date it was last checked and the sources it was checked against, and the employers' sheet is made to be printed.
Sc. 03 · how we built it
The build refuses a page without proof.
Every build starts by auditing the content and stops on any page without a verification date, with fewer than four source links, or without a primary source. The date moves only after its sources are opened again; it is not a modification date. After 120 days the stamp stops saying “checked”, which is a promise in the present tense, and says “last checked” instead.
Sc. 04 · the detail
The law is shown to the clerk, untranslated.
Beside the explanation, the Bulgarian legal text sits in its own box, untranslated, made to be turned around and shown to a clerk. Page addresses are in Latin letters, because a Cyrillic link pasted into Telegram becomes forty characters that look like phishing. And no referrer is sent, so the sites linked from here never learn the visitor came from a page about losing their status.
Sc. 05 · where it stands
Live at uabg.org since 30 August.
Built from 14 August 2026; the first 44 articles landed already audited, and the audit caught one outdated legal provision. The site went live at uabg.org on 30 August, and the newest verification date on it is from that day. Next: the employer sheet handed out before March, a Telegram digest, and three English pages for institutions.
