The story

  1. Sc. 01 · the brief

Shopify is the benchmark; Bulgaria is the market.

A small Bulgarian shop needs what generic builders leave out: the tax office's audit file, local couriers, prices held in euro cents, and search that finds “чаша” whether it is typed “chasha” or “ча6а”. Brandolog is the website and store builder for Bulgaria first, then the Balkans, measured against Shopify row by row.

  2. Sc. 02 · what we built

    One application, two faces.

One Next.js application with two faces: the dashboard and editor at brandolog.app, and the storefronts on brandolog.site and custom domains. Merchants start from 37 themes, 115 templates and 76 section types, then sell with variants, stock held during checkout, cash on delivery and couriers. Storefronts speak 36 languages, and a review cannot exist without an order.

  3. Sc. 03 · how we built it

Every site is one JSON document.

The document model is the product: each site is one JSON document, with the draft and the live copy kept apart and a single function to publish between them. Money is computed only on the server, and merchant code runs on a different domain from merchant sessions. Since August the app and the storefronts deploy from one codebase as two Vercel projects.

  4. Sc. 04 · the detail

    Dark is a number: 0.1791.

A theme does not get to call itself dark. A page is dark when its background luminance falls below 0.1791 (the point where white and black text read equally well) and every accent must then clear 4.5:1 contrast. A script checks every theme; taste does not get a vote. The rule was born on a real client's shop, where one accent had gone unreadable.

  5. Sc. 05 · where it stands

Live, and still measured against Shopify.

The builder was started in July 2026; its first done-for-you client went live on it in August. Against the Shopify parity table, 67 rows are done, 7 partial and 2 not started. Card payments are still ahead, and merchant scripts stay off until a public-suffix entry is filed.
